We here at Old Dominion are so excited to host our second-annual Literary Ball! We hope that this post will give you some inspiration and spark your creativity with regards to your costumed-attire for the evening of April 7th.

What Do I Wear to a Literary Ball?

The Literary Ball is a great excuse to make a costume, splurge a little, or just run the goodwill to put something fun together.

The idea is have a whole smorgasbord of characters represented from many different eras and works of literature.

You can come as a character from your favorite classic work, childhood picture book, mystery series, history textbook, or biography. The possibilities are endless! Kudos to those who come as a group or a collection of characters.

Here are several examples of literary character costumes (remember, it does not have to be a fictional character!):
